The Italian Ministry of Health has expanded its safety warning regarding fresh table eggs following potential Salmonella Enteritidis contamination, affecting several major retail brands across the country. The national alert initially began with notices issued for eggs distributed under the AIA and Selex brand names. The warning was subsequently broadened to include Delizie del Sole, a popular private label sold at Eurospin supermarket chains. Epidemiological tracing confirmed that despite being sold under different commercial labels, all affected products originate from a single production lot processed at the same facility:
- Shell Stamp Code: 1IT040VR006
- Producer: Agricola Tre Valli Società Cooperativa (Veronesi Group)
- Packing Facility: Caselle di Sommacampagna (Verona Province)
The recalled batches consist primarily of free-range table eggs.
