France’s national consumer safety agency, RappelConso, has issued an urgent nationwide recall for specific consignments of fresh table eggs following the microbiological detection of Salmonella Enteritidis during routine safety screenings. The recall applies to fresh shell eggs distributed in molded pulp cartons. The affected lots bear the health/sanitary marks: PL30225901, PL30105903, PL30055912. According to European Union country identification codes, the PL prefix explicitly confirms that the origin of both the layer flocks and the packing facilities is Poland. As of the recall order issued on July 21, French health authorities have not reported any active clinical outbreaks or hospitalizations directly linked to these specific lot numbers. This action follows closely on the heels of a separate epidemiological investigation concluded in early July 2026 by the National Reference Center (CNR) for Salmonella. That investigation traced 16 confirmed cases of S. Enteritidis infection across France, 4 of which required hospitalization, to imported table eggs from Poland.
