Regional veterinary authorities of the Junta de Castile and León have officially confirmed a new outbreak of Newcastle disease. The virus was detected at a broiler facility located in Aldea de San Miguel, within the Valladolid province.
According to official reports, the affected flock consisted of unvaccinated broiler chickens. This latest occurrence marks the 11th confirmed outbreak of Newcastle disease in Spain since a resurgence of the virus began in December 2025, highlighting ongoing epidemiological challenges and the critical importance of robust vaccination protocols in the region.
