Israel: another outbreak of Newcastle disease

An outbreak of Newcastle disease was reported by the Israeli Veterinary Services to the OIE. The outbreak occurred in a backyard flock that contained 40 chickens, two pigeons and two geese. On 17 December 2010, 15 chickens died. No mortality was observed in the pigeons and geese. The flock was no vaccinated.

The location is within 16 km of a poultry farm in Kfar Yehoshua, where 7,000 chickens were culled ten days ago, after Newcastle disease was confirmed.
