The affected farm in Masaki-cho Iyo-gun introduced 60-day-old chickens on 22 June 2010 when two dead chicks were found. Thirty-three chicks died from 28 June to 1 July. A local government's veterinary service affirmed that two dead chicks collected on 30 June were infected with Newcastle disease virus by PCR test and virus identification on 1 July. All susceptible animals in the farm were destroyed on 1 July.
