Newcastle in Belgium

An outbreak of Newcastle disease was diagnosed in pigeons in Waregem - Belgium. On 22 March, the young pigeons were vaccinated against Newcastle disease. Clinical signs appeared 3 days later. The PCR was positive for Newcastle disease. Around 50 older pigeons kept for breeding were vaccinated. All pigeons will be kept inside for at least 60 days until measures will be officially lifted.
