First report on the avian influenza outbreak in Israel has been released.
An increased in mortality was reported on the 17th of January. Samples submitted to the Avian and fish division in the Kimron Veterinary Institute on the 24th were positive to H5N1 virus by real time-PCR and viral isolation.
