Tha avian influenza National Reference Laboratory confirmed by RT-PCR the presnece of type-A, subtype H5 LPAI virus in a pool of tracheal swabs collected in a hobby farm. At the time of sampling, the farm had 3,527 birds.
Preliminary investigations revealed the partecipation at hobby birds exhibitions in Friuli Venezia Giulia and Veneto regions. Further investigations are ongoing.
