Infectious bronchitis virus vaccine interferes with the replication of avian pneumovirus vaccine in domestic fowl (Cook et al. “Infectious bronchitis virus vaccine interferes with the replication of avian pneumovirus vaccine in domestic fowl.” Avian Pathology 30 (2001): 233-242.
STG-SHS-1439, is a German strain isolated in 1990 from a broiler breeder flock with typical signs of SHS, and confirmed to be subtype B.
The VCO3/60616 strain (subtype B) originates from the seventh passage of the field strain 86004, which was isolated from a turkey affected by turkey rhinotracheitis in France in 1986. The attenuated vaccine strain VCO3/50 was subsequently developed through an additional 50 passages in Vero cells.
The BUT 1 #8544 strain of avian metapneumovirus (aMPV) (subtype A) originates from a field isolate obtained in the United Kingdom during the mid-1980s. It was isolated from commercial turkeys showing clinical signs of turkey rhinotracheitis (TRT). The BUT 1 #8544 strain was derived from outbreaks in British United Turkeys (BUT) breeding stock, hence the designation "BUT." Following isolation, the virus underwent attenuation by serial passages in Vero cells.
