Maduramicin

Description: A monoglycoside polyether ionophorous antibiotic able to bind monovalent or divalent metal ions.

Origin: Fermantation of Actinomadura yumaensis

Dosage: 5 ppm

Toxicity: Fatal to horses. Maduramicin is the most toxic of all the ionophores for non target animals and humans.
It might cause severe cardiovascular defects, as it inhibits proliferation and induces apoptosis in myoblasts.

Drug Interactions: Synergism with nicarbazin.
