Origin: Fermantation of Actinomadura rubra
Dosage: 5 ppm
Toxicity: Fatal to horses. Maduramicin is the most toxic of all the ionophores for non target animals and humans.
It might cause severe cardiovascular defects, as it inhibits proliferation and induces apoptosis in myoblasts.
The LD50 in male Wistar rats was determined to be 6.81 mg/kg bw.
Synergism: with nicarbazin.
