Wyoming reports first human case of bird flu

The Wyoming Department of Health has confirmed its first human case of H5N1 bird flu in the region, marking the third documented instance of hospitalization related to this infection in the United States. The patient, a woman with preexisting health conditions that increase susceptibility to illness, is currently hospitalized in Colorado. The woman, who lives in Platte County, Wyoming, likely was infected through direct contact with an infected poultry flock at her home.
