Housing measures for all poultry in Wales and England lifted
17 April, 2023
The Chief Veterinary Officer has announced that mandatory housing measures for poultry and captive birds in Wales and England, which were put in place to prevent the spread of avian influenza, will be removed on Tuesday 18 April 2023. The decision follows a thorough risk assessment and ongoing monitoring, which has shown that the risk levels of avian influenza have decreased. Therefore, bird keepers are no longer required to keep their poultry and captive birds indoors, except for those in a protection zone.
