Avian influenza in Europe

Since the beginning of August, 130 cases or outbreaks of avian influenza have been detected in wildlife or in farms in Europe, particularly on the shores of the North Sea and the Baltic Sea, including three outbreaks in farms Germans. At the same time, the confinement of all professional farms was decided in the Netherlands following the detection of an outbreak in a farm of laying hens (36,000 birds)  in Zeewalde. Another H5N1 outbreak was detected at a broiler farm (107,000 birds) in Grootschermer, and two new outbreaks of highly pathogenic H5N1 bird flu among meat ducks (10,000 and 21,000 birds) in Zeewolde. 
In Italy, six outbreaks have been detected in broiler turkey farms in the Verona region since October 19.Denmark reported an outbreak of highly pathogenic H5 avian influenza at a turkey farm in the central part of the country. The outbreak at a farm of 27,600 animals in Slagelse started on Oct. 30 and was confirmed on Nov. 1.
Russia's latest event began on Oct 26 at a poultry facility in Kirov oblast, the first outbreak of its kind in the area. The virus killed 800 of 422,015 susceptible chickens.
