Description:

Avilamycin is mainly active against Gram-positive bacteria, including Bacillus spp., Clostridium spp., Corynebacterium bovis, Enterococcus spp., Lactobacillus spp., Listeria monocytogenes, Micrococcus luteus, Staphylococcus aureus and Streptococcus spp. Avilamycin is intended for use as a veterinary medicine in chickens, turkeys to control bacterial enteric infections.

 

Mechanism of action: Avilamycin inhibits protein synthesis by binding to bacterial ribosomes, by inhibiting the binding of
formylmethionyl-tRNA to the 30 S ribosomal subunit
Avilamycin acts on the bacterial ribosome, by inhibiting the binding of formylmethionyl-tRNA to the 30 S ribosomal subunit.
