Additionally, lower feed costs are improving profit margins for Thailand, the world’s third-largest exporter of chicken meat.
In economic terms, the decline of one competitor often presents an opportunity for another. However, it is important to recall that the severe avian influenza outbreak in South Asia in 2003 was accompanied by a deliberate concealment of cases in Thailand, driven by concerns over potential impacts on export markets.
