Brazil: Chicken meat exports surge by 9.4% in January

According to the Brazilian Animal Protein Association(ABPA), Brazilian chicken meat exports (including all products, both fresh and processed) reached 443 thousand tons in January. This figure represents a 9.4% increase compared to the same period last year, when exports totaled 404.9 thousand tons. This is the largest volume recorded for January in the historical series. Revenue generated from these exports amounted to US$ 826.4 million, reflecting a 20.9% increase from the previous year's total of US$ 683.6 million. The primary destination for Brazilian chicken meat exports, China, imported 44.3 thousand tons in January, a 15% increase compared to the previous year. Following China, the top importers included the United Arab Emirates with 38.9 thousand tons (stable), Saudi Arabia with 31.8 thousand tons (-9%), Japan with 28.1 thousand tons (-30%), South Africa with 27.5 thousand tons (-14%), the European Union with 22 thousand tons (+41%), the Philippines with 20.4 thousand tons (+39%), South Korea with 14.6 thousand tons (+14%), Iraq with 14.6 thousand tons (+4%), and Singapore with 14.1 thousand tons (+20%).
