Surge in Ukrainian Egg Exports for 2025

27 January, 2026

New data released by the Union of Poultry Growers of Ukraine reveals unprecedented growth in the export of shell eggs and egg products throughout 2025. Despite the ongoing challenges of war, the country managed to boost its export volume by over 65%. According to the 2025 summary report published in January 2026, Ukrainian producers exported approximately 2.05 billion shell eggs over the past year, a dramatic 65.6% increase compared to 2024. The financial growth was even more pronounced: export revenues reached $201.9 million, representing a 2.8-fold increase over the previous year's earnings. The report attributes this surge largely to a significant reduction in production within the European Union, caused by complex poultry health issues, including widespread outbreaks of Avian Influenza. This supply shortage led to rising prices and a heightened reliance on Ukrainian produce. Consequently, the EU emerged as the primary destination, accounting for 73.4% of total shell egg exports and 92.6% of processed egg products (such as powders and liquids). The leading importers of Ukrainian eggs in 2025 were:

  • Spain: 16.4%
  • United Kingdom: 11.9%
  • Czech Republic: 10.3%
  • Poland: 10.0%
  • Croatia: 8.7%
  • Israel: 7.8%

While the export of processed egg products saw more modest growth in volume (reaching 8,200 tons, a 2.6% increase), the financial value of these exports jumped by 40.3%, totaling $47.8 million. Latvia and Italy remain the primary buyers in this specific category.
