2025: A Landmark Year for Brazil's Poultry Industry

13 January, 2026

The annual year-end report by the Brazilian Animal Protein Association (ABPA) reveals that despite significant challenges, including the country’s first-ever outbreak of avian influenza, Brazil concluded 2025 with a historic milestone. Poultry exports reached a record-breaking 5.324 million tonnes, representing a 0.6% increase compared to the previous year. A critical factor in this success was the implementation of a "Regionalization" strategy. This protocol allowed the industry to isolate HPAI affected areas effectively, preventing the virus from paralyzing exports from the rest of the country.
While export volumes reached new heights, total revenue saw a slight decline of 1.4%, totaling $9.790 billion. Experts attribute this dip to a correction in global commodity prices and intensifying international competition. Among destination markets, the United Arab Emirates stood out with a notable growth of 5.5%.
