Slovakia detects H5N1 strain of avian influenza

Slovakia detected the H5N1 strain of avian influenza in two dead wild birds
Initial tests of the samples of a wild falcon and a grebe showed positive for the H5N1 avian influenza virus, the two wild birds were found dead Tuesday near the capital Bratislava.
The samples are being sent to the EU's reference Lab in Britain's Weybridge for confirmation of the results.
