Canada- Interim report: Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (H7N3)

On September 27, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) declared an outbreak of HPNAI (H7N3) in Saskatchewan and advised the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) of these findings. An interim report of this outbreak was recently published.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) announced most restrictions that halted the movement of bird and bird products within Saskatchewan have been removed -- excluding the quarantine of Pedigree Poultry. it will be 90 days after the cleaning and disinfecting of the quarantined property is completed before the World Organization for Animal Health can be informed the Saskatchewan poultry industry has taken the proper precautions and followed the designated guidelines.
