Czech, German AI virus have same origin

Czech Reublic & Germany 28 June, 2007 The comparison of parts of the H5N1 viruses from a swan found dead in Nuremberg and the virus isolated in the Czech republic, accomplished at the Friedrich Loeffler institute in close co-operation with the European Union reference laboratory for aviהre influenza in Weybridge (UK), resulted in a very large similarity of 99.5%. Whether there is a direct connection between the outbreaks in the Czech republic and in Bavaria, is not so far well-known. These viruses appeared to be the highly pathogenic Asian strain of H5N1 circulating in the Middle East.
