South Korea reports fourth farm infected with avian influenza

South Korea 8 April, 2008 South Korea reported that a fourth farm was infected with avian influenza.
The first two cases were caused by the H5N1 strain, and tests were under way to see if two other poultry farms were struck by the same virus.
A total of 380,000 birds have so far been targeted for slaughter to contain the disease.
The first case was in a commercial layer flock in Gimje, the second one occured at a duck farm in Jeongeup the third outbreak occurred at a duck farm just 1.8 kilometers (1.1 miles) from the first case in Gimje, while the fourth case was at a duck farm near the second outbreak in Jeongeup.
